A consortium of five TV producers have filed a 1.73 Million Shequel ($370,000 US) copyright infringment suit against “Hot”, a leading Israeli cable television company.
The suit, filed in the Tel Aviv District Court, requests an injunction against the cable television company, to prevent it from using storylines written or directed by them. Hot had invited the consortium to return to the negotiation table and also suggested that the sides agree to arbitration by any of six retired High Court judges.
Hot are now taking a fighting stance and have announced that they believe that the courts will do justice, and will respond to the allegations at length during the trial.
