Apple Corps Trademark Infringement Charges Against Apple Computers Rejected

The British High court has rejected Apple Corps claims that Apple Computers has infringed their trademark. The music publishing company owned by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono – John Lennon's widow, and the estate of George Harrison, shares a similar looking logo to that used by Apple Computers.

Back in 1991 a settlement was reached between the two companies with te Computer Company paying $26,000,000 to the Beatles' music business. Earlier this year Apple Computer launched a service called iTunes that allegedly is a music business and infringes the terms of the settlement. Apple Computers claimed that iTunes is a data transfer service.
