US Supreme Court to Hear KSR v. Teleflex case.

Following recommendations of the Solicitor General, the US Supreme Court yesterday agreed to hear the KSR v. Teleflex case which apparently hinges on the motivation/suggestion/teaching test developed by the Federal Circuit for dealing with questions of obviousness.

The House Appropriations Committee approves USPTO funding level for 2007 at estimated fee collections

Finjan sues Secure Computing, CyberGuard and Webwasher

Vietnam, Malaysia and El Salvador Join International IP Treaties

Vietnam acceded to the Protocol relating to the Madrid Agreement concerning the International Registration of Marks (Madrid Protocol) on 11 April 2006. The Madrid Protocol becomes binding in Vietnam on 11 July 2006.

Malaysia and El Salvador acceded to the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) on 16 and 17 May 2006 respectively. The PCT will enter into force in those countries on 16 and 17 August 2006 respectively.
