Teva has now received final approval to market a generic version of Pfizer’s Antidepressant, Zoloft®. The drug has 3 billion dollars of sales annually, and has been around for 14 years. Teva’s version will be available within weeks.
Zoloft® (sertraline HCl) is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that is used to treat depression, social anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic disorderand premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) in adults. It is also approved for treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in children and adolescents.
