Magnum Venture Capital, an Israel VC fund specializing in communications has changed its name to Magma Venture Partners to differentiate itself from the International group of Magnum Funds.
With Magma, the VC company may get burned again. Israeli companies with similar names includeMagma Real Estate LTD., Magma Assets LTD., Magma Productions, Magma Research & Development, Magma Marketing Telecommunications LTD.
One wonders why Venture Capital Funds often don’t consult with trademark attorneys or patent attorneys when choosing their own names. Ah, well.
Dear writer, please be advised that when you refer to “the two organizations” you are actually talking about the same one; MCF Advisory Services LTD is Magnum Communication Fund which changed the name to Magma Venture Partners and filed the Israel trademark application for Magma Ventures (Israel trademark application number 195302).
