The Comité Interprofessionel du Vin de Champagne (CIVC), which represents the producers of wines sold under the Champagne appellation of origin, has succeeded in appealing a Nominet expert’s refusal to transfer the domain name champagne.co.uk to it.
The appeal panel overturned the expert’s decision, finding the registration “abusive” due to the respondent’s linkage thereof to commercial websites.
