Singer Lennon Murphy has a band that is named ‘Lennon’ after herself.
Yoko Ono has sued, claiming that this tarnishes the late, great John Lennon’s legacy.

Ms. Murphy was named after the singer, but can’t be held responsible for that. Calling the band after herself seems reasonable, although there is arguably room for confusion.
Probably unfairly to Ms Murphy, the story reminds me of a man who legally changed his name to Margaret Thatcher and then ran for the UK House of Commons in a general election, in the Finchley constituency, representing the Conservation Party. That was (rightly) considered to be illegal. I doubt that Yoko Ono will win this one on its merits, but possibly simply by virtue of the amount of resources she has at her disposal…
