In a welcome development, the Israel Patent Office has offered Applicants or their representatives the choice of receiving filing receipts by email instead of regular (snail) mail.
Not infrequently clients want the application number in a hurry and we have to nag the secretary at the patent office to fax us the filing receipt. Receiving the details by email, presumably receiving the filing receipt as a PDF, should speed up the service. It should also save money and may even save paper, although in my experience, paperless offices print and throw away more than traditional businesses, so am not holding my breath.
