IP Factor Receives 50,000th Hit

April 21, 2008

We are delighted to announce that this blog has now had 50,000 hits. Although other Intellectual Property blogs such as PatentlyO and the IPKat, have a much larger readership, as this blog specializes in Israel related patents and trademarks – which is a niche area of limited general interest, we are very proud of this achievement.

The IP Factor is certainly established as THE prime Israel Intellectual Property resource, and it is gratifying to note the large number of readers who follow all our musings.

Thames Water – to Receive Special Geographic Indication

April 3, 2008

Ex Londoners like me will love this latest development, that is reminiscent of Peckham Spring Water, one of the Trotter brothers’ great money making schemes.

Apparently, Thames water is to be considered like Champagne wine, Jersey butter, Scotch Whiskey or Newcastle Brown Ale, and be awarded special Geographical Indication. Soon to be bottled and distributed over Europe. For more details, see the IPKAT: http://ipkitten.blogspot.com/2008/04/thames-water-to-get-gi-status.html

And to think when I grew up we used to have this on tap. Hang on a moment – this wouldn’t be an April Fool Joke would it? Who knows? There are so many strange and ridiculous IP developments, that this one appears no less credible than UPS vs. Brown or Johnson & Johnson vs. US Red Cross.
