The Israel Patent Office has announced that it will move to the Hi Tech Industrial Park in Malkha – a Southern Jerusalem suburb.
The Israel Patent Office used to be situated in Givat Shaul, but had to move since the building it occupied was deemed unsafe for the weight of files since the floor was of PalKal – a technology that failed in the Versailles Banqueting Suite disaster. For the past few years, the patent office has been in Talpiot in a temporary and inadequate office space. Since the Patent Office has grown recently and is taking on new examiners, more space is urgently required.
