A group of five Israeli exporters – ARETZ, MGD, Sunnydan, Shoval and Pilpel Faran – have cooperated to market their agricultural produce under a new independent regional trademark.
The incentive for the branding initiative was the vast increase in fresh produce such as peppers, that are also grown in other Israeli regions, which, apparently has resulted in noticeable variations in quality.
The Arava region has a reputation for high quality produce, due both to the experience of its farmers and to the ideal growing conditions.
The Israeli companies are hoping that this new regional trademark will draw the attention of the worldwide importers, and help them protect the good reputation that they have worked so hard to establish.
