YNet, Israel’s most popular news website, which is connected with Yediot Achronot, Israel’s most widely read (tabloid) newspaper, is suing Mig News for copyright infringement. Mig News is a Russian Language website that has had IP problems with a trademark case over the name Mig.
Yediot claims that the Russian language site posts translations of their articles, cribbed from YNet. Not being a Russian speaker, I cannot comment on the accuracy of the charges.
it will be noted, however, that news content is not copyright, despite standard copyright notices on press releases. The expression of those ideas is copyright however.
