BMS and Novartis Sue Teva Over HIV Drug Reyataz

Bristol Myers-Squibb Co. (BMS) and Novartis have sued generic-drug maker Teva Pharmaceuticals USA Inc. over its attempt to introduce its own version of HIV treatment Reyataz before the expiry of patents for the drug.

Reyataz (atazanavir) is a protease inhibitor and is used to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and prevents HIV cells from multiplying in the body, thereby delaying onset of  acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).
