Sex Rod and Victor’s Secret

The Boston Red Sox have won a victory against Brad Francis Sherman, getting his trademark for Sex Rod discredited.

The Red Sox may well have been right that the sex Rod logo was immoral and scandalous, and that the term rod referred to part of the male anatomy in a state of arousal. I am not sure that it really disparaged the team and doubt that it falsely suggested that the baseball players endorsed it.

the case is more than a little reminiscent of a store selling sexual aids that wittily called itself Victor’s Secret. In that case, I think confusion could arise, but Sex Rod? it’s a little like the Cocaine take offs of Coca Cola. I think that somethings are best laughed off.
