As expected, the Israel Patent Office have adjusted their fees. They used to do this biannually, but now intend doing it once a year only. The changes come into effect on 1 January 2016.
Most adjustments were predictable cost of living index adjustments of a 1-2%. The big change is in petitioning to make special. This used to be fairly cheap. Now there is a first fee to file a petition of 700 Shekels (around $175), but if successful, a second fee of a further 300 Shekels will be due. Third parties can request examination of a pending application, but the cost of so-doing is a horrendous NIS 5000 to NIS 10,000.
